OUTING DAY NO.1!

Day 5

STARTED OFF THE DAY WITH...
Today is the day we got to go out of the school for some sight-seeing!!We had to gather at the parking lot in front of the teaching building by 750 (which are really early)!! Ke Xin and I ended up waking up late (we woke up around 723, to be exact) but luckily we managed to reach there not too lateJ . We took a bus to go to our destination. The bus was really warm which made us even happier! We went to the Wu Hou temple first. There, I got to learn a lot about the Chinese history. Then we went to Jinli Old Street which is near the temple. There, we got to try a lot of the local street food. I also tried my first HOT milk tea with pearls (as I only drink the cold ones in Singapore) and it tasted a lot like the teh-tarik in Singapore! We also went to buy panda souvenirs. And me and my friend, Joyce got cheated a little bit...We bought panda key chains at 1 for 6 RMB but when we go to another shopping street, the same key chains are sold at 3 for 10 RMB or 1 for 4 RMB. To be fair, we were told that the place will sell its things at a price a little higherJ . After that, we went to  the other shopping street which is divided into 3 streets and each street has different shops. There, I got to try a type of candy that is sold by one of the vendors. The candy syrup is poured onto a cold stone and the person will then start to draw out a picture using the candy syrup. The syrup will harden and it is then placed on a satay stick. I got a candy shaped like a SWORD! And it tasted really niceJ. The parking lot that our bus was parked at was a little unique and different from the normal parking lot that we see. The entire area of the parking lot was covered with carpets!

AT NIGHT!
We were invited to a party that is organised by the local students here. They prepared a lot of events and games which were really fun and it was very nice of them to do thatJ. I think our chinese classmates also got to brush up on their chinese language as some of the games organized had tests on chinese idioms etc. At the end of the party, they went on to surprise one of their classmate with a cake as it was his birthday today. I could see that they were all very close to one another and has a strong friendshipJ. We got back quite late today but overall, it was a day that was well-spent!
